Your day-to-day plan
Day 1-3
Arrive in San Francisco
Arrive in San Francisco, make your way to your hotel either by San Francisco’s train from airport to downtown, BART or taxi and spend the rest of the day exploring the city. San Francisco is one of the most exciting cities in the United States and has something for everyone. Marvel at the Golden Gate and Bay bridges, experience the eight hairpin turns of Lombard Street, take a ferry to Alcatraz Island and explore bustling Fisherman’s Wharf.
Day 4-6
San Francisco to Oahu
Take the approximately five hour flight across the Pacific Ocean to Oahu, where you will join your cruise in a few days time. Oahu is the most visited Hawaiian Island, home to the famous golden sands of Waikiki Beach and further north the pretty North Shore, a paradise for surfers due to its huge waves and laid-back surf towns. During your time you can choose to relax at your hotel, or get out and explore the island – choose to hike Diamond Head, a volcanic crater which boasts memorable views across Waikiki and the Pacific Ocean and visit Pearl Harbor, one of America’s most famous historic sites which was attacked by Japan in December 1941.
Day 7
Norwegian Cruise Lines
You have until early evening before you board your Hawaii cruise, time to visit the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the USA or enjoy some retail therapy at the outdoor Ala Moana shopping centre. Embark this evening and settle into your stateroom and explore your home for the next seven nights. There is no shortage of things to do onboard with incredible leisure facilities including a choice of swimming pools and hot tubs plus a running track. The theatre productions are very entertaining with Hollywood and Hawaiian theme shows plus there is a wide range of restaurants and bars.

Day 8-9
Kahului, Maui
Sail into the picturesque island of Maui, and the port of Kahului located in the east of the island. A wide variety of excursions are available over the next two days including a full day trip to journey along the Road to Hana, one of Hawaii’s most scenic drives that weaves along the islands north-east coast which has 58 bridges and over 620 curves. Another incredible shore excursion is to dramatic Haleakana Crater which dominates the island. Journey from the base of the dormant volcano at sea level to the top that rises to 10,000 feet and see the most breath-taking views of the island.
Day 10
Hilo, Hawaii
Sail into Hilo, located on the dramatic east coast which is dominated by the islands most visited attraction Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embark on an optional half day shore excursion to visit the park and its two volcanoes – both of which are still active. Take in views by car or hike in the park and see endless acres of rugged lava fields, hissing craters and lava rocks – the scenery here must be seen to be believed. The landscape on the island is very varied, from pristine white sand beaches to jet black sands, lush coffee plantations and rainforests making it one of the most unique and interesting Hawaiian Islands to visit.
Day 11
Kona, Hawaii
Cruise around to the west coast of the island, known for its coffee plantations, sandy cliffs, white and golden sand beaches, and calm waters, perfect for snorkelling. Optional shore excursions include visits to coffee and chocolate plantations and farms to learn about how these delicious goods are produced and opportunities to taste the world-famous Kona coffee.
Day 12-13
Nawiliwili, Kauai
The last stop on your cruise is the beautiful island of Kauai, lovingly known as the ‘The Garden Isle’ due to is lush and tropical vegetation. Get up close to the islands fascinating attractions on optional shore excursions. Recommended trips include a visit to Waimea Canyon, a vast canyon with dramatic cliffs and multi-coloured orange and green coloured rocks and flora – making it one of the island's most visited and breath-taking attractions. Enjoy an authentic ‘luau’ and experience local delicacies and Hawaiian dancing. Make sure to capture a memorable sunset, Kauai is known for its spectacular sunsets!
Day 14-16
Oahu to Los Angeles
Arrive back in Oahu this morning and transfer from the cruise terminal to the airport for your flight to Los Angeles. On arrival, transfer by taxi to your hotel where you will spend the next three nights. The best way to explore Los Angeles is on a bus tour and we've included a 2-day hop on/off tour that visits the different neighbourhoods including Hollywood, home of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Dolby Theatre where the famous Oscars ceremony takes place. Get the bus tour out to Santa Monica and its famous pier, the end point of Route 66 and to Beverly Hills, and its high-end shops and celebrity mansions.
Day 17
Homeward Bound
Enjoy your last day in Los Angeles, perhaps visiting the Griffin Observatory for stunning city views and a close up view of the famous Hollywood sign. Transfer back to Los Angeles airport to catch your flight back to the UK.
